Yes, up to 80% shade.


How often do I have to fertilise my Kakadu?

Four times a year, at the start of each season.


How much underlay is required?

The amount of underlay varies from site to site, for example if you have an existing lawn and you have at least 10cm of existing soil depth, then you may only need 3cm of underlay, However, if you are in a new subdivision and there is no existing soil, you may need 10cm to 15cm of underlay.


To what height should I mow my Kakadu turf?

Kakadu can be mowed as low as 2cm or up to 7cm. This all depends on the look and feel you are after.


How do I know I am buying authentic Kakadu Turf?

All certified growers of Kakadu have authenticity certificates which will be supplied to you upon purchase. If you have any doubts about a particular grower or re-seller, please contact us and we will assist you in the matter.


How much water does Kakadu need?

When it is first laid, you should water every day for the first two or three weeks. Once the Kakadu has established, you can reduce the watering to two or three times a week.


How long do I need to stay off my newly laid Kakadu lawn?

At least two weeks.


Can Kakadu handle weed control chemicals?

Yes, as long as the weed control chemical is suitable for Buffalo turf.


Can I lay Kakadu around my salt water pool?

Yes, Kakadu is the ideal grass around a salt water pool.


Do I need to top dress my Kakadu turf?

No, the only time we recommend to top dress is if you accidentally scalped your lawn while mowing or you have low spots after laying. This is to be done by using washed river sand and only in the areas that are affected.


How soon after I purchase Kakadu do I need to lay?

The sooner, the better. We recommend through the warmer months to lay on the same day, and in the cooler months, no more than two days.


Do I need to roll my newly laid Kakadu?

Yes, we recommend you roll after laying.


What thickness does the turf come in?

This varies from grower to grower, but the average would be 4cm.
